Non-profit Consulting
In the capstone course for my Human Resource Development minor, the entire class was tasked with transforming a small non-profit organization in South Dakota named Black Hills Community Loan Fund. The company main clientele are Native Americans. With my background in marketing and design, my team quickly volunteered to be the 'logo and repetitive campaign materials' group.

The client wanted the logo to represent Native Americans, the majority of her clientele, without being too overt or exclusive. The teepees represent this population, but the color scheme keeps the logo neutral overall, to appease all of the target audience. I also decided to create the mountains in the background to represent the Black Hills from which the name derives. I chose to combine a serif and sans serif font to create contrast and visual hierarchy.
Although I was able to create the logo using Illustrator, my group and I faced the challenge of finding a shareable and free program to use to create the advertisements, because our client did not have access to Adobe Creative Suite. We decided on Piktochart because it was free and easy for beginners. This specific flyer is one I made for a Mother's and Father's Day loan special. The client requested that both holidays appear on the same flyer for a more convenient distribution.
